Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Frank August Schneider was the Dean of Library Services at Central Washington University from 1979 to 1991. Dr. Schneider held a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Dubuque, a Bachelor of Science in Library Science from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Arts degree and Education Doctorate from Arizona State University. He retired in 1991 and passed away the following year.

The papers in this collection include reports and minutes from Central's Academic Computing Committee (1981-1992), the All University Committee on Computer Application Priorities (1989-1990), Centennial Committee (1987-1991), and Reprographics Committees (1983-1984).
Historical BackgroundReturn to Top
Central Washington University began as the Washington State Normal School in 1891. In 1937, the school was rechristened the Central Washington College of Education. In 1961, the school became Central Washington State College and, finally, in 1977, Central Washington University.
