Content DescriptionReturn to Top
The Josh Scheuerman papers (1994-2001) consist of publications concerning either snowboarding or music. The first folder contains one issue of SLUG (Salt Lake Under Ground), and two issues of Medium, a small snowboarding magazine. The second folder contains photocopies of articles Scheuerman (b. 1978) has written for SLUG. A majority of the articles deal with music. Scheuerman does interviews with the bands 311 and Avail, as well as with Shawn Fanning, the founder of Napster, and the founder of the Vans Warped Tour, Kevin Lymann. The rest of the articles are about snowboarding. In one article, Scheuerman discusses the history of snowboarding in Utah; in another he covers a snowboarding contest. He also interviews snowboarder Mike Nelson. This collection is interesting because not only is it contemporary and relevant to current pop-culture, but it is also one of the first collections to document snowboarding in Utah.
