Historical NoteReturn to Top

The Fine Arts Study Club is a successor to the West Side Improvement Club. Established as the E Re Nata (To Meet the Need) Club January 12, 1921, it changed its name to the Fine Arts Study Club in 1923. It began as an organization of West Seattle women interested in art, but within a few years added music and literature as subjects of study. Membership expanded to other areas of Seattle, and men were admitted beginning in 1979. The stated purpose of the club was to promote the intellectual growth of its members, to stimulate interest and appreciation of the Fine Arts and to lend influence toward the altruistic problems of the day. The club was disbanded in 2007.
