The Lacey V. Murrow Memorial Bridge (Lake Washington Floating Bridge) opened on July 2, 1940. Sick's Stadium was the home of the Seattle Rainiers, Seattle's first Major League Baseball club.

The W.T. Preston was a "snagboat" for controlling natural debris along several Puget Sound rivers. Originally docked at the Hiram M. Chittendem Locks in Seattle, the ship was moved to Anacortes, Washington, and given National Historic Landmark status.
