The Forest Industries Radio Communications (FIRC) organization coordinated radio communication in the lumber and forest products industries. The organization was formerly called the National Forest Industries Communications.

The records include meeting minutes, correspondence, financial, general and annual reports, technical files, and periodicals, 1947-1961.

The collection includes minutes from the National Executive Committee (1947-1959), Western Division, and other general and membership meetings.

Correspondence files are organized by agency or organization title and often include notes, minutes, research and documents. Files include forest product, logging and lumber companies, the West Coast Lumberman's Association, Federal Communications Commission, other committees, as well as the Eastern, Lake States, and Southern Divisions of FIRC. Also available is correspondence with attorney's Hewes and Awalt (1947-1953).

Reports include the Secretary-Manager's Annual Reports (1935-1961), financial, and general reports.

Technical files include field manuals, regulations, frequency-sharing and related files.

Periodicals (1948-1959) consist of Radio Communication and Two-Way Transmission.
