Ann Okerson, director of the Office of Scientific and Academic Publishing of the Association of Research Libraries, led the following sessions on both 23 and 24 April: "Scholarly Journal Publishing - Problems/Alternatives," "The Serials Contingency Cancellation Project - Why?," "Colloquium on Electronic Journal Publishing."

Visitors' guest book and photographs of the Finnish book exhibit prepared by the Libraries to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Finland's independence.

Scope and Content: Videocassette of the program (April 4, 1998) honoring Warren G. Magnuson and officially initiating the endowment at the University of Washington Libraries under his name. Former legislative aides of Magnuson during his years in the U.S. Senate describe their interactions with and impressions of the Senator during their work for him. Speakers include Stanley Barer, Norman D. Dicks, Michael Pertschuk, Eric Redman, Shelby Scates, and Edward Sheets. Gerald B. Grinstein served as moderator of this panel. Also included in the accession are a copy of the program, a report, and five pages of notes on the panel discussion.

Magnuson as a political strategist and as a "boss." Panelists include Gerry Johnson, Thomas Keefe, Edward Merlis, Sharon Nelson, Emanuel Rouvelas, and Jerry Grinstein, Moderator.

The script for the Suzzallo/Allen tour was written by Theresa Mudrock and narrated by Scott Hibbert. The Friends of the Library paid for the duplication to cassettes and for the tape recorders used in this project.
