The UW World Series at Meany Hall presents performances of internationally acclaimed artists in music, theater and dance, as well as award-winning educational programs. The World Series performances introduce nearly 50,000 audience members each year to a wide range of diverse cultures. The Series offers performance programs in four major areas: World Music & Theater, President's Piano, World Dance, and International Chamber Music, which are held at Meany Hall on the University of Washington campus. The educational programs include master classes, in-school artist residencies, workshops, and daytime performances for children.

Scope and Content: Clippings, performance files, photographs; 1978-1985, 1988-1998.

Clipping files contain reviews and advertisements for UW World Series performances held at Meany Hall between 1989 and 1998. Photographs include prints and negatives of publicity shots of Meany Hall taken between 1989 and 1994. Performance files contain correspondence, brochures, press releases, programs, reviews, photographs, color slides, and other publicity materials related to performances held at Meany Hall between 1978 and 1998. The accession does not include files for performances held between 1986 and 1996. The performance files include publicity materials created by the UW World Series (1997-1998), Meany Hall for the Performing Arts (1984), UW. Public Performing Arts (1981-1984), and UW. Office of Lectures and Concerts (1978-1980).
