The Allied Daily Newspapers of Washington was a trade organization composed of 22 daily newspapers representing more than 98% of Washington state's daily newspaper circulation. The Tax Research Committee was created by formal action of the general membership in open session at the association's spring meeting held in Seattle, May 13-14, 1949. The organization also created the Citizens' Committee on State Finance to study the state budget.
