Conference on writing.
The Pacific Northwest Asian American Writers Converence was held at University of Washington June 29 to July 2, 1976. The University of Washington Asian American Studies Program, Department of Comparative Literature, Institute for Comparative and Foreign Area Studies, and Office of Minority Affairs, and the Asian Multi-Media Center of Seattle sponsored the conference devoted to the writing and study of literature by and about Asian Americans. The conference is the first of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. It included workshops for writing poetry, prose, and drama; panel discussions of Asian American writers and works; public lectures and reading; and the premiere showing of the Two-act play, "Nisei Bar and Grill."
