Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Anand Badamikar (1954-), from Solapur, Maharashtra, is a celebrated tabla player and disciple of Pandit Taranath Rao.

Dhruba Ghosh (1957-2017) was a sarangi and tabla player, vocalist, composer, and innovator who contributed to establishing the sarangi as a classical Indian solo instrument worldwide. The son and disciple of tabla maestro Nikhil Ghosh, Dhruba Ghosh invented new and original techniques that would eventually help form an independent language for the sarangi. He taught vocal music for several years at Sangit Mahabharati Music school in Mumbai, India.
