Content DescriptionReturn to Top

Jennings was a mining engineer who came to Salt Lake City in 1898 from the Lake Superior region where he had been working in the iron industry. He was a consulting engineer for the Utah Metal and Tunnel Company and one of the best known mining experts and engineers in the west. The photographs in the collection are personal and date from approximately 1889 to 1920. Many are of his family and friends on outings. There are also views of Salt Lake City and vicinity, Saltair, an auto race in 1908, photographs of scenery and of mining and freighting operations in Utah and Idaho, pictures of the Walker farm, and personal and commercial photographs from a trip to Europe.
