2 sound cassettes (60 min. each); transcript; 3 records

Scope and Content: Tape-recorded interview, 1909-1976, with transcript (edited first draft) conducted by Meta Kaplan; and a recording of High Holy Day Braodcast, KOMO Sept. 1950.

Mr. Larson tells of his parents who both came from Samke, Minsk. He gives a nostalgic enchanting account of Yesler Way, its vicinity and Bikue Cholim as his second home in the years preceding World War II. He was a prime mover in establishing Congregation Emanual . He tells about the reasons for its establishment, the work involved, and the rituals.
