Historical NoteReturn to Top
The Lake County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, established in 1923 and headed by the County Clerk, keeps the records, seals, and minutes of the board of county commissioners, serves as the election official for the county, and acts as the ex-officio county auditor and recorder of deeds as designated by the first Territorial Legislature. The roles and responsibilities of the Clerk have expanded since that time and now include the responsibilities for the records of most functions of the county government.
