This is a photocopy of a typed essay that was likely written in the mid-1920s. The writer, who is unknown, interviews Hiram Stafford (Principcal of the Pacific School), and Dr. Samuel Koch (Rabbhi of Temple de Hirsch), Rabbi Simon Winograd (Congregation Birkur Cholim), and Nessim "Sam" Alhadeff (Palace Fish Company). The writer also interviews many anonymous sources about the Jewish experience in Seattle and the United States. The writer was not Jewish and presents an outsider's view of the Jews in Seattle. The essay includes valuable information on the programs and schedules of various synogogues, as well as detailed descriptions of the buildings. Also discussed are Jewish neighborhoods, businesses, and organizations and services.
