Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Jewish community leaders Dorothy and Jerome Becker were founding members (1968) of Congregation Beth Shalom, a Conservative Jewish synagogue affiliated with the United Synagogue of America. Both Dorothy and Jerome served as President of the Congregation--Jerome c. 1970-1972 and Dorothy c. 1977-80. Jerome was also Vice-President from 1969-1970 and Treasurer c. 1968 and c. 1982. Dorothy was a member of the Board of Directors c. 1982 and c. 1989, served as President of the Beth Shalom Sisterhood c. 1972, and as Vice-President--Administration of the Pacific Northwest Branch of the Women's League For Conservative Judaism c. 1969-1970.

Slides from the Food Fair at UCC, contact sheets for 35mm negatives of an unidentified event, and photographs of groups (including confirmation classes, school classes, and board members at Herzl Conservative Congregation) and activities (including food fairs and Rabbi Stone's Installation Dinner) at Congregation Beth Shalom, as well as Herzl Conservative Congregation and other Jewish organizations. Many of the people in the photographs are identified.
