Biographical NoteReturn to Top

William Harrington was employed as a national Equal Rights Amendment field organizer by the American Association of University Women from 1976 to 1977. He worked for the ratification of the ERA in Indiana, Illinois, Florida, North and South Carolina. He was a member of Men Allied Nationally for the ERA (M.A.N. for E.R.A.) and the National Organization For Women. He wrote a book on the ratification of the E.R.A. Melissa Thompson is his wife and worked as a national lobbyist for the National Organization for Women, also working on ratification of the E.R.A.

Thompson, and material relating to his service as advanceman for Maureen Reagan and Judy Carter (President Jimmy Carter's daughter-in-law). Correspondents include Birch Bayh.
