Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Dr. Sharad Gadre was a musician of the Gwalior persuasion, and a 'method' teacher. Having studied with Pt. Nagesh Khalikar (disciple of Mirashibua), he had imbibed and internalized the Gwalior style of Khayal, and had a remarkable sense of layakari in his music (both harmonium and vocal). Gadre received a doctorate in structural engineering from England's Imperial College.

Pandit Shyam Kane (1954-), from Mumbai, Maharashtra, is a Tabla player of the Punjab Gharana.

Pandit Ulhas N Kashalkar (1955-), from Nagpur, India, is a Hindustani classical vocalist. He has previously received training in the Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra gharanas, and is considered a representative of all three schools.
