The Michael K. Green papers consists of documents relating to his professional activities and his role in the Eastern Washington University (EWU) History Department. These materials include correspondence, course syllabi for public history courses, planning materials relating to courses at EWU, and materials produced by students. This collection also contains papers relating to the Spokane City/County Historic Landmarks Commission, and publications and research done on historic preservation. Also included in this collection are correspondence and memoranda relating to the controversial resignation of Eastern Washington State College President Emerson C. Shuck.

Michael K. Green joined Eastern Washington University faculty in 1967. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Eastern Washington University, and received his Masters of Arts and PhD from the University of Idaho. He was an active participant in the Spokane City/County Historic Landmarks Commission while he was a professor in the History Department at EWU.
