- The letters from Camp Floyd [photocopies] (1859) consists of two letters which provide a glimpse of life at this Utah army outpost. The letters are photocopies with transcriptions provided. One letter was written by Elon John Farnsworth, Assistant Forage Master at the camp. The other was written by Captain William D. Smith. Camp Floyd was established by Johnston's Army after arriving in Salt Lake City.

The letters from Camp Floyd [photocopies] (1859) consists of two letters which provide a glimpse of life at this Utah army outpost. The letters are photocopies with transcriptions provided. One letter was written by Elon John Farnsworth, Assistant Forage Master at the camp. He describes the army's journey, camp life, and his love for a girl. The other was written by Captain William D. Smith. He describes the arrival of the army into the Salt Lake Valley and its subsequent encampment in Cedar Valley. He also gives some observations on camp conditions and the political situation in Utah Territory. The collection also contains come correspondence surrounding the acquisition of the Farnsworth letter.
