Summary
The Martin Zwick papers (1928-2002) contain correspondence, letters of appreciation, programs from the Utah Symphony and the All American Youth Orchestra, copies of news clippings, material from his schooling and teaching, financial material, contracts, and family scrapbooks. Martin Zwick was the principal clarinet for twenty-eight years with the Utah Symphony under Maurice Abravanal. He was also a music teacher for Granite School District and the University of Utah. He studied at Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris for a year. Martin Zwick was also a freelance photographer.

Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Martin Zwick, the son of Jacob and Annie Zwick, was born in Brooklyn in 1920. He was the principal clarinet for twenty-eight years with the Utah Symphony under Maurice Abravanal. He was also a music teacher for Granite School District and the University of Utah. He studied at Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris for a year. When he was younger, he toured for two years with the All American Youth Orchestra under Leopold Stokowski. Martin Zwick was also a freelance photographer.
