Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Münir Nurettin Selçuk (c.1900-1981) was a tenor singer and musician from Istanbul, Ottoman Empire (modern day Turkey). He received his musical training in Paris before returning to work at the Istanbul Conservatory in 1952. He served 16 years as the Conservatory’s director. During his lifetime, he performed in a variety of stage musicals and established the role of the lead singer in Turkish music.
