Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Arthur Leslie Grey Jr. (1922-2012) was born on Jan 18, 1922. He was an Urban Planning professor at University of Washington. Grey grew up in San Jose, California and received his Bachelor or Arts degree from San Jose State University. He wmarried Patricia Wing in 1947. After finishing his PhD. in Economics, he taught at the University of Nevada, CalTech, and the University of Southern California where he transitioned to Urban Planning. He was the Chairman of the Department at the University of Southern California before taking a tenured professorship at the University of Washington from 1964 to 1989. He chaired the Urban and Regional Planning Department between 1967 and 1973. He died February 12, 2012.
