- Merriman Holtz (1901-1958) was born in Portland, Oregon. He founded Film Adettes in 1931 and served as a consultant on the distribution of movies promoting war bond sales during World War II. Merriman Holtz (1901-1958) was born in Portland, Oregon. In 1925, he married Helene Tyroll. He founded Film Adettes in 1931 and served as a consultant on the distribution of movies promoting war bond sales during World War II.
