The collection contains a hand written copy of a diary by American prisoners in the Philippines titled, "Diary by American Prisoners found in a cell at San Isidro, Philippine Islands, province of Nuevaeciyo (Nueva Ecija?) by a member of the 2nd Oregon Volunteers." Notations at the end of the diary stated that "names found on the cell wall were: J. O'Brien (O'Brian?); A. Romuchien (?); and A. Huber - captured January 27, 1899; and W. Bouce and Capt. Honnyman - captured January 30, 1899."

Gathered correspondence and mementos includes notes, orders, including special orders of soldiers "reduced to the ranks," event programs, and postcards depicting the Philippines. There are also photographs of soldiers, and clippings regarding soldiers (1898-1899).

Also available are copies of the Manila Times (1928; 1930; 1944; and 1946), and a copy of the Philippine Magazine, undated.
