Yvonne Hajda earned her Ph.D. in anthroplogy from the University of Washington, where she wrote her dissertation on the social networks of native groups of the Lower Columbia from 1792 to 1830. She conducts ethnohistorical and ethnographic research on the native peoples of the Northwest, especially those of the Columbia River, the Willamette Valley, and the Warm Springs reservation.
