Seattle Action for Soviet Jewry was established in 1975 to help Jews in the Soviet Union. Besides sending aid, gifts, and letters to the USSR, the organization worked to improve U.S. laws which will benefit emigres as well as lobbied for political prisoners. It was dissolved in 1990.
