Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Mary Catherine Stephens, an educator, was born in Sprague, Washington on April 10, 1919 and received a B.A. degree from the University of Washington in 1941. She served as education director of the Washington State Board Against Discrimination in 1959, as board member of the King County Council on Aging, 1956-1960, and as president of the League of Women Voters of Seattle. Stephens was also associated with the Urban League, the Civic Unity League, and the Puget Sound Council of Social Studies.
