The inaugural issue of Youth on Parade, published September 8, 1950, containing congratulatory messages from Rabbis Raphael Levine of Temple de Hirsch, Samuel Penner of Herzl Congregation and Gerson Appel of Congregation Bikur Cholim. The writers of the publication also interviewed Seattle Mayor William Devin and Gloria Swanson, who was visiting Seattle to promote the film "Sunset Boulevard."
