Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Diana Crystal (1906-1995) was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on April 23, 1906. After her family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia from Ireland, she enrolled in a three-year training school at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C. In 1928, she graduated and moved to Seattle, Washington, where she was one of the earliest Jewish nurses in the state. Crystal remained active as the Seattle representative at Jubilee events and organizing local alumnae events. She was also heavily involved in the Seattle Jewish community before retiring in 1972.

Scrapbook, financial records, legal documents, and photographs.
Scrapbook features letters, clippings, and photographs which document Diana Crystal's career as a registered nurse, various family members at social events and vacations, and her interest in the Seattle Jewish community, in particular articles detailing Temple De Hirsch Sinai and Rabbi Raphael Levine (1935-1989). Accession also includes real estate deeds, titles, and mortgage loans related to her property in Thurston County, Washington (1931-1964) as well as her Washington State nursing licenses and certifications (1931-1988).
