Biographical NoteReturn to Top

C. Alvin Paulsen (born and raised in Portland, Oregon) was a clinical scientist and professor of medicine at the University of Washington. He is renowned and respect for his pioneering work in male reproductive disorders and male fertility regulation. Additionally, he served on editorial boards, published over 150 contributions in scientific literature, and was a founding member of the American Society of Andrology (ASA). Paulsen was recognized by his election to the Presidency of ALA in 1979 and won the Distinguished Andrologist Award in 1989 among other awards. C. Alvin Paulsen retired in 1992 as Emeritus Professor but remained active in academic programs until his health deteriorated. He passed away in 2008.
