Scope and Content: Tape recorded stories, transcriptions with English translations; 1992-1993.

Tape recorded field research in Mountain Cahuilla. Typewritten texts accompanying the tapes are transcriptions with line-by-line translations into English. Katherine Sauvel worked with Eric Elliott on the project.

Stories in this accession are numbered beginning with 181 becauase the two researchers had already completed stories 1-180 before they received a Jacobs grant.

Serrano, a Takic language of the Uto-Aztecan family, was spoken in San Bernardino County, CA. The informant lives on traditional Cahuilla territory and the interviews were recorded on the Morango Reservation. Stories in this accession are numbered 78-293.
