The film begins with shots of mountainsides, the sun rising and setting and snow falling on pine trees. After the title sequence, we see shots of skiers on the slopes. These are the characters that will dominate much of the film and they are identified as members of the local Ski Patrol. There is also footage of skiers paying for lift tickets, children competing in Junior Ski competitions, hot air balloons , youth ski school classes and dog-sled competitions. The film then shifts to show the nightlife of the resorts. We see shots of people barbequing, eating in lodges and restaurants and waving at the camera. The next images are of the Salt Lake International Airport. The camera follows one particular skier with a Snowbird resort jacket on as he arrives in Salt Lake and takes a Taxi to his hotel. There are a few images of buildings in Salt Lake as well as a shot of the city skyline during daylight hours. In addition, we are given a glimpse of the entertainment that the city has to offer visitors. There is footage of people watching a basketball game (unidentified teams) as well as a Hockey game featuring the Salt Lake Golden Eagles). There is also a short montage of various alcoholic beverages available in the city as well as a short bit of footage of a ballet performance and a woman playing the violin in an orchestra. The film then shifts back to the skiers (members of Ski Patrol) and the nightlife afforded them. We see footage of an after dark drum circle followed by that of a country and western band. There are shots of people warming themselves in front of a fire and cooking meat on an outdoor grill. Finally, we see footage of a helicopter with the members of the Ski Patrol inside it take off for a mountain top not used by ordinary skiers. The helicopter lands and the skiers file out and proceed down the slope. After a montage highlighting their skiing prowess the film ends. Colorado and Utah quarrel over ski business. Colorado gets twice as much ski business as Utah gets. Tom Brokaw announces on the evening news that wars are going on between the two states, each competing for ski business.

Skiers from around the world come to the United States to enjoy the ski resorts' well groomed runs from October to May. The state of Colorado and the city of Denver, CO, are gateways to arrive to many ski resorts in the Rocky Mountains. Utah boasts the greatest powder snow on earth. California has a few ski resorts, the best known of them being Mammoth Resort in Northern California. Getting up the hills on these resorts used to be slow and difficult. Now, people are up in the mountains in a few minutes. Snowboarding has become more popular as well. A Brazilian narrator speaks in Portuguese on this VHS tape that talks about traveling to the USA and visiting the many ski resorts the country has to offer. There are eight resorts highlighted here, all from Utah, Colorado, Nevada, and California. The narrator tells you where to fly to and how to arrive at each destination. He says that Breckenridge, Vail and Aspen and Snowbird, Alta and Brighton Park City are all easily accessible. Tom Welch narrates a program describing the future venues for the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympics. He describes each of the ski races, the ice skating and speed skating, etc. The night life in Salt Lake City is better than rumors have it, in addition to the plays and symphonies, and the various sporting events (Jazz, Grizzlies, Minor league baseball)

In 1938 Alta created the first major chairlift in the world. The ski areas in Utah are very accessible from the airport or home to resorts: most are 45 minutes away. At Wolf Mountain, the hills are catering to all of the family. There are 12 ski resorts in the Wasatch Mountain Range alone. Presented by Black Diamond. Each of these resorts are within 7 miles of each other. Deer Valley, for the Salt Lake Winter Olympics, held the arials, moguls, and slalom events. Heidi Vogler is the ski instructor at Deer Valley, and Stein Ericksen likes Deer Valley the best. Park City has many bars to accomodate visitors, and the night life is great. Skiers say that the snow is better in Utah than Europe. There are 14 chair lifts at Park City, and 100 runs.

Presented by Black Diamond. Solitude is 30 minutes from Salt Lake City. Some of Solitude's runs include: Last Run, Shady Rain, and Sunshine Bowl. Brighton is the oldest ski place and gets 500 inches of snow fall usually.

Utah State advertisement. Bryce Canyon has amazing hoodoos, and Zion National Park has wonderful waterfalls and long, challenging hikes. Geologic events formed the parks of Capitol Reef, Lake Powell, and Goblin Valley, and, in 1969, the Golden Spike was hammered in Northern Utah.
