Authorized by the Utah Emergency Relief Administration in 1934, this project was carried out by the Utah Museum Association under the direction of the Utah State Planning Board. The project group was instrumental in securing passage of a statute requiring a permit from the State Parks Commission for all exploration, excavation, or removal of relics from the state.
