Dillis Charles Knapp was executive director of Pacific Northwest Trade Association, 1947-1963. Earlier he worked as a representative of the American Friends Service Committee. He was associated with the Rotary Club of Seattle, Seattle Committee on Foreign Relations, Seattle Committee for the Atlantic Colleges, and The World Affairs Council of Seattle.

Includes "The Wards and the Knapps", a family history by D. C. Knapp, 1978, 395 pages. Writings by Knapp on world peace were sent by him to public figures and various Quaker groups ca. 1945-1957. There is a large amount of correspondence regarding these peace proposals.
Material in this accession relates to the war in Vietnam. Mr. Knapp circulated his manuscripts against the Vietnam war to various U.S. Congressmen and Senators, as well as local and national newspapers and magazines, and received many written responses.
