Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Charles Royal was a potter who married Mary Gearhart Royal in 1818. They started for Oregon in 1852 with five of their 13 children. They filed a donation land claim north of Gresham. Charles' brother, Rev. William Royal, founded a Methodist church in Portland in 1867.
