Scope and Content: Tape recorded interview covering the years 1908-1975, conducted by Meta Buttnick on 28 Jan 1975; transcript.

Radinsky begins by describing his family's life in Russia outside the Jewish Pale of settlement. His father served twice in the Czar's army and was wounded in World War I before deciding to leave Russia. Radinsky recounts his father's and the rest of the family's journey across Siberia to Harbin and their eventual landing in Seattle in 1916. He describes the Jewish neighborhood around Yesler Way and the Settlement House. He talks in some detail about the Workmen's Circle and the raid of its Yiddish School just after World War I. He tells about the Jewish agricultural settlement at Republic, Wash. Finally, he discusses his father's junk business.

Scope and Content: Tape recorded interview conducted by Meta Buttnick on 27 May 1981; transcript.

Mr. Radinsky expands upon his first interview of 28 Jan 1975. He speaks of his great-grandparents in Russia. He tells of his education at the University of Washington and his career in the scrap and salvage business with his father. He gives a first-hand account of Hooverville. He talks more on the Workmen's Circle, the Seattle Hebrew School, and Congregation Bikur Cholim-Machzikay Hadath. He relates conversations with Harry Kossen about the Jewish settlers near Republic, Wash.
