Biographical NoteReturn to Top

D. Robert Theobald (b.1949) began his career in the ski industry as a salesman in the ski shop at the Goldminer's Daughter Lodge in Alta, Utah, in 1966. He spent much of the 1970s competing in freestyle events, promoting amateur freestyle competitions, and training young skiers. In addition to operating the "Get Hot" ski school at Solitude ski area, Theobald was a founding director of the International Freestyle Skiers Association, served as national chairman of the USSA Freestyle Committee, and was instrumental in the development of the Utah Ski Demonstration Team.
