Jesse D. Walling (1816-1870) was a pioneer who settled in Marion and Polk Counties, Oregon. He is buried in the historic Spring Valley Cemetery in Polk County.

The papers include three letters from Walling, dated 1849, 1860, and 1869. In the 1860, letter he states that he has changed the name of his location to Lincoln, in honor of the recently elected President. The post office had been Valfontis, in Polk County. Other documents include steamboat invoices and a ferry license.
