Nancy Louise Thilberg's "Charm" scrapbook from the Kathleen Peck Models Agency and School. The scrapbook consists of school handouts on topics including rules of the school, a three-day cleansing diet, exercise, posture, grooming and beauty, skin and hair care, clothes, and accessories, as well as magazine articles on these topics.
Historical BackgroundReturn to Top
Kathleen Peck, who was known as "The Northwest's First Lady of Charm," operated the first and longest-running model-and-charm school in the Northwest. She was born in Oklahoma and raised in Texas before moving to Seattle in 1938, where she modeled for The Bon Marche while attending the University of Washington. Peck opened her model agency, charm school, and fashion show firm in Seattle in 1946 before establishing the Kathleen Peck Finishing and Modeling School in Bellevue in 1975. She operated this school until 1980. Peck died on September 8, 1997.
