The mission of the University of Washington Office of Technology Transfer is to extend the impact of University of Washington research through the creation of partnerships that encourage investment in innovation. The job of Technology Transfer is to protect and manage intellectual property arising from University of Washington research, and to license intellectual property rights to industry for the ultimate benefit of people. One of its primary goals is to catalyze the creation of new companies based on University of Washington technologies.
